Stock Investing Tips – Follow a 32 year old I.T professional with a 10K budget build a large porfolio and market hammering retirement plan.

Why did i create this site?

Hi There,
my name is Patrick Cranner. I live in New Jersey. I am 32 years old and just recently married. I have no childeren and I work in I.T as a software engineer. Well I guess thats all you need to know about me witout getting too bored.

I created this site for 4 main reasons.
  • Keep track of my portfolio and I find that by simply writing things down and documenting them, I learn faster, and remember much more. I'll also be able to do some information reporting over time on my portfolio and stock which will help me make future investment decisions. Since you lovely folk are going to be watching my investment moves, It's another strong incentive to do my due diligence thoroughly and spare having egg on my face :( . You get great stock investin tips either way.
  • I always wanted to build a useful web site and learn all about the latest web technologies, search engine optimization hopefully make a few advertising bucks along the way and use knowledge in job as a software engineer.
  • I want to build a following and make some friends along the way. Who knows what dorrs may open when you make a new network of like minded contacts.
  • The current financial crisis and almost daily banking and investment scandals have shown us that we really are on our own when it comes to securing a confortable retirement and taking care of our families. We can no longer depend on pension schemes, goverment retirement plans or expensive fund management. We have to take matters into our own hands. Any readers that are willing to learn and take action have a great oppertunity to learn also. I was always thought by my parents to keep giving and the world will give back many fold. This has served me well all my life. So I figured sharing my information will give eager and action takers a chance to secure their retirement plans.

My Publishing plan

This site and blog will be launched on January the 1st 2011. Initially while I build up articles etc I will be publishing short general investing 101 information that I believe will help my readers and any begineers with their stock market education. When I have my publishing system and resources in place I will start showing the daily results and actions I take on my portfolio. I will be chosing my stocks over the next few weeks. I will only use my 10K balance to buy chosen stocks at prices I consider fair values. In other words, the price levels will determine how fast or slow my 10K budget is used. As I choose stocks I'll also pass out my other stock investing tips along the way for those with more capital to spend.

What Types Of Investements Will I be making?

Over the las 3 years I invested in stocks from industries that I have a strong understanding of and this has served me well. My current portfolio which was born out of a balance of 10K also has increased by over 38% in 36 months. I be investing mainly in the same industries here. These industries are mainly technology and energy. I may also be using some of the capital on penny stocks as I've beend doing pretty well lately with some penny stocks. I will be focusing on Forex. I may move into options when there is sufficent capital to justify this. Also when I have sufficent capital I will be spreading the risk on that capital by moving into corporate and goverment bonds.

My strategy is mainly buy and hold based on solid information. As this is a retirement plan, I'm aiming for as little risk as possible with a portfolio lifetime of about 20 years.

This shold make my plan very easy to follow for anyone. As there will be very few transactions since I mainly buy and hold. I will only be selling stocks when I have good reason to believe they have capped or if if I am confident that a short sell can give me a cash boost. I may also buy back stocks when I predict another period of growth.
